Soko Banish Patch 1.6.0


Soko Banish 1.6.0 has just been released, featuring a complete rework of ghosts to turn them from real-time hazards into step-based puzzle elements! You can read more about this change on my blog, and a patch to update from version 1.5.1 can be found in the game's download section on the official website.

Game changes:

General

  • Ghosts have been reworked completely:
    • Ghosts are bound to the grid and only move when the player does.
    • Turns are no longer random but based on player location.
    • Ghosts show up in solutions (older solutions may look incorrect).
  • Standard levels have been changed to adapt to the new ghost changes:
    • Back Alley
    • Phantom Corridors
    • Corpse Lily
    • The Final Trial
  • Improved undo/redo performance.
  • Added a : between pack & level in states.sav to prevent ambiguity
    • This change can be made in a text editor to load old states.
    • Saving state now throws an error if the file can't be written to.
  • Minor backend optimisations.

Bugfixes

  • Objects can no longer be pushed down past the level boundaries.
  • Arcane Orbs with 20+ free tiles between them now work as intended.
  • The cursor no longer vanishes when moved too far out of the window.
  • The +/- keys now correctly increase/decrease solution replay speed.
    • Fixed inconsistencies with alphanumeric and Numpad +/- key inputs
  • Redo no longer changes restored push notation to lowercase.
  • Fixed a visual bug that could cause Ardos to stay "dead" after undo.
  • Fixed a visual bug causing gates to vanish when dying above them.
